Position Overview

The Culinary Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that patients receive their meals in a timely and efficient manner. This position is responsible for the selection of meal orders, precise assembly of food trays, and the delivery and collection of these trays, all while adhering to sanitation standards.

Shift Requirements
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Welcome patients, provide information on meal options, and take orders for upcoming meals, ensuring that service excellence is upheld.
  2. Assist patients in making suitable food selections and suggest alternatives when necessary; refer to a Dietitian as needed.
  3. Input menu choices into the dietary management system accurately.
  4. Gather patient feedback and communicate any concerns regarding food service or preferences to the supervisor or Dietitian.
  5. Prepare food trays for designated patients while adhering to portion control guidelines.
  6. Ensure timely delivery of trays and manage the collection of used trays post-meal service.
  7. Handle food in compliance with health regulations and departmental policies.
  8. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  9. Assist in the cleaning and sanitization of reusable kitchenware.
  10. Perform additional related duties as necessary; all responsibilities listed are considered essential functions of the role.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
