Magellan Health is seeking a highly skilled Military and Family Life Counselor to provide non-medical, short-term counseling services to military service members and their families. As a Military and Family Life Counselor, you will work closely with the command structure and military service members to provide counseling, training, and health and wellness presentations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide non-medical, short-term counseling services to military service members and their families.
  • Deliver training and health and wellness presentations to military service members and their families.
  • Work closely with the command structure and military service members to provide counseling and support.
  • Enter counselor activity data daily to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with community resources and provide linkages for service members and their families.
  • Provide MFLC response to critical incidents, surge, and on-demand events.
  • Manage duty to warn and restricted reporting situations according to Department of Defense protocol.
  • Communicate with Regional Supervisors and participate in regular individual and group supervision.
  • Participate in regular in-services/training, Quality Improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree from an accredited graduate program in a relevant field of study.
  • Valid unrestricted independent counseling license from a State, District of Columbia, US Territory, or Commonwealth.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
  • Ability to engage and communicate with military members or children as assigned.
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather and other military base conditions.
  • Ability to prove US Citizenship and be fluent in English.
  • Pass a National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) Clearance, an Installation Records Check (IRC), Criminal Background Check, and FBI Fingerprints Check.
