Job Title: High School Science Teacher

Job Description

As a High School Science Teacher at Uncommon Schools, you will play a critical role in preparing students for success in science and beyond. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement engaging and effective science curricula that meet the needs of all students. Your passion for science education and commitment to equity will drive your work, as you strive to create a learning environment that is inclusive, supportive, and challenging for all students.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective science curricula that meet the needs of all students.
  • Teach a range of science courses, including biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science, to students in grades 9-12.
  • Design and implement assessments and evaluations to measure student learning and progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs that support student learning and achievement.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and stay current with best practices in science education.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in science, education, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching science in an urban school setting preferred.
  • Strong commitment to equity and social justice in education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
