Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Prevention Specialist to support the planning and evaluation of prevention activities, training, education, and outreach for integrated primary prevention.
Main Responsibilities:- Conduct environmental scans and determine whether a needs assessment is necessary
- Analyze data to summarize trends, prevalence, incidents, and outcomes within the community
- Support the development of population-based and/or targeted primary prevention efforts to address unique community needs
- Identify efficiencies in primary prevention development and delivery
- Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Army (DA) policies, higher headquarters, ACOMs, or higher-level commands, and local directives
To qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines
- Combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field
- Four years of appropriate experience demonstrating knowledge of one or more behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field
One year of specialized experience providing support for the coordination and implementation of comprehensive primary prevention activities addressing individual, interpersonal, organizational, and community factors contributing to harmful behaviors such as suicide, sexual harassment, sexual assault, substance misuse, family and interpersonal violence, workplace violence, crime, and military equal opportunity.
Education:Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, family and counseling, or Criminal Justice.
BenefitsThis Medical Career Field position offers competitive compensation, including a salary range estimated between $73,000 to $114,000 per annum, depending on location and qualifications, plus applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
