Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our laboratory, providing top-notch patient care, and working collaboratively with our healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform phlebotomy and capillary collection for various age groups
  • Collect, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory
  • Identify and ensure proper identification of each patient and respective samples
  • Keep collection trays and outpatient collection area neat and well-stocked
  • Assist with specimen processing, microbiology, and histology tasks as needed
Requirements:
  • Previous phlebotomy experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Formal phlebotomy training from an accredited program preferred
