We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Veterinarian to join our team at Altasciences. As a key member of our animal health care team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of animals in our care.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medicine, with experience in animal health care and research. You will be responsible for participating in the collection of samples, tissue, and raw data, as well as preparing test articles for administration and performing surgery and other medical procedures.

You will also be responsible for supervising and participating in the diagnosis and treatment of sick animals, as well as overseeing quarantine and animal acquisition procedures. Additionally, you will participate in the training of technicians and contribute to the elaboration and revision of the Animal Care and Use program of Altasciences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and participate in the diagnosis and treatment of sick animals
  • Supervise and participate in the anesthesia and recovery of animals during surgical procedures
  • Ensure that all necessary supplies and materials for current procedures are available and that sterility in the surgical quarters is maintained
  • Conduct surgical and other medical procedures and treatments
  • Participate in the training of technicians
  • Supervise and participate in the performance of routine herd health surveillance laboratory tests

Requirements:

  • DVM required, Active Veterinary License in at least 1 US State
  • Must acquire Missouri State License in Veterinary Medicine within 1 year of job start
  • Experience with FDA GLP, not required but preferred
  • Graduates of Non-AVMA accredited veterinary schools must have educational commission for foreign veterinary graduates (ECFVG) certification
  • Basic computer skills sufficient to perform the daily duties of the role
