Role Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Grading Manager, the Construction Surveyor will assist Area and Project Managers by delivering surveying and mapping services essential for horizontal and vertical construction layouts.

  • Create detailed drawings illustrating existing and proposed areas, elevations, and features.
  • Ensure the precision of survey data, including measurements and calculations taken at survey sites.
  • Document survey results, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features.
  • Calculate heights, depths, property lines, and other terrain characteristics.
  • Plan and execute ground surveys to establish baselines, elevations, and other critical measurements.
  • Support other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Candidate Profile:

  • Technical training or experience in surveying, civil engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Basic surveying skills and knowledge of safe surveying equipment usage.
  • Fundamental math skills, including percentages and volumes.
  • Ability to read blueprints and comprehend contract documents.
  • Capability to work in dynamic construction site conditions.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and adjusting construction plans for proper site drainage.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized with excellent follow-up abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and collaborative.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Civil Technology, Drafting Technology, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Surveying, or Survey Technology.
  • Experience with surveying software, such as Civil 3D or Carlson Survey.

Additional Information:

Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential. Willingness to travel to various job sites is required, along with the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as necessary.
