Job Title: Protestant Religious Education Coordinator

Location: Vandenberg SFB Chapel

Job Type: Part-time

Hourly Rate: Approximately 25 hours per week

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and organize the comprehensive Religious Education (RE) program for the Protestant Community, which encompasses Sunday school, Children's Church, AWANA or similar children's programs, Vacation Bible School, and Youth Group activities.
  • Ensure effective scheduling of the RE program, including managing facility and purchase requests for all related events.
  • Design, promote, and implement at least one RE program each for Women, Men, Youth, and Children within the Protestant Community throughout the fiscal year.
  • Coordinate children's church lessons in alignment with Protestant worship services.
  • Maintain accurate records, statistical data, and reporting in compliance with relevant Air Force Instructions, Air Force Chaplain Corps, and local policies.
  • Prepare and submit the annual Protestant RE Budget Proposal and Activities Calendar for the fiscal year to the Delta Chaplain or their representative.
  • Facilitate the selection and acquisition of RE curriculum, supplementary materials, and supplies in collaboration with the Delta Chaplain's representative.
Qualifications:
  • Possess a solid theological understanding of the Protestant faith, with knowledge of various denominations.
  • Ability to recruit, train, and sustain a volunteer workforce for educational programs.
  • Minimum requirement of a high school diploma and at least one year of relevant experience in a church environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent training, experience, or education is preferred.
  • Proficient in calendar management, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and capable of adapting to other software as needed.
