We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Payroll Technician to join our team. This role involves performing technical payroll duties, computing salary payments, deductions, and leave accrual balances for employees and student workers. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the department manager, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of salary payments and deductions. Additionally, they will maintain database accruals for employee vacation, sick, compensatory, and other leave balances.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university and four years of payroll experience. Strong knowledge of time reporting and payroll processing procedures, as well as financial record keeping principles and terminology, is required.

In this role, you will input payroll information into the third-party payroll system, research errors, and make recommendations for adjustments to the department manager. You will also work cooperatively with departments and employees to process employee changes, enroll employees in tax-sheltered annuities, and assign employee numbers. Furthermore, you will process federal and state taxes, including FICA, Medicare, and retirement systems.

This position requires excellent customer service skills, strong communication, and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. If you are a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills, we encourage you to apply.
