We are seeking a meticulous and enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineering Trainee to collaborate with the Industrial Engineering division and operational teams to enhance productivity and quality while minimizing waste in the production process.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conducts research, design, and development of manufacturing workflows, including assembly techniques and production machinery.
Creates and maintains comprehensive layouts of facilities and equipment.
Designs, develops, tests, and/or sources and evaluates the cost-effectiveness of various tools, machinery, and equipment for proposed manufacturing techniques.
Performs product/process evaluations for cost savings, quality enhancement, and operational efficiency.
Acts as a representative for manufacturing on interdisciplinary teams.
Completes all tasks as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be pursuing a postsecondary degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline. Ideally, we are looking for candidates who are currently enrolled in their studies.
Availability for 20 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, between 7 AM and 4 PM for a minimum of two semesters.
Familiarity with Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing principles and Quality Control methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Must be organized, self-motivated, and a collaborative team member.
Proficient mathematical and analytical skills.
An articulate individual capable of engaging with people at all organizational levels and possessing exceptional communication skills.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Visual Basics.
Experience with 2D CAD software.
Additional Information:
This position is onsite for approximately 20 hours per week. We are looking for candidates from local colleges only. Remote work is not an option for this role.
