Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Engineer Trainee to join our team at the Florida Department of Transportation. As an Engineer Trainee, you will have the opportunity to work on complex engineering projects, develop your skills and knowledge, and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical engineering tasks of gradually increasing complexity in Field Operations, Warehouse, Repair Shops, and Maintenance Systems.
  • Conduct field work, requiring a Class E Driver License.
  • Work on projects related to Roadway Design, Drainage Design, Traffic Design, Signing Pavement Marking, Operations Analysis, Signalization, and Signal Systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree from a university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
  • Have taken, or be registered to take, the Fundamentals of Engineering examination, as administered by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers.
  • Class E driver license required.
