Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Services team at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Winchester. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Document patient care given.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: Associate's degree required. BSN is preferred.
  • Required Skills: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire, AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire, AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire, TNCC preferred.
  • Licenses: Current and active Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of Tennessee.
Work Environment

This is a per diem/PRN position, rotating weekends and various shifts. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
