Job Description
Overview

4LEAF, Inc. is a leading consulting firm providing expert services to municipal Building Departments across the United States. We are seeking a highly skilled Permit Technician to join our team and support the permitting process in the Monterey County area.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of technical and administrative duties to support the permitting process, including reviewing and processing various permits.
  • Assist with the processing of permits to support the Building, Planning, and Engineering Divisions, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to local government customers and the general public by offering information and guidance on the permit application process.
  • Review development permit applications and related documents for completeness and accuracy, determining acceptability for further review.
  • Calculate, collect, and document fees associated with development project applications.
  • Assist with clerical functions, including filing and maintaining development review files.
  • Answer phone calls and direct code and development-related questions to the appropriate person.
  • Update electronic permit files.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Customer service and administrative experience required.
  • Industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with building plans, codes, ordinances, and related terminology is desirable but not required.
  • Modern office practices and procedures.
  • Mastery of computer technology (i.e., Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Records management practices.
