Job Overview:
The Housekeeping Specialist role focuses on maintaining warehouse cleanliness. Responsibilities include utilizing various tools and equipment for floor cleaning and waste management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and using floor scrubbers to remove debris, spills, and trash
- Follow cleaning checklists for different areas, using appropriate cleaning materials and equipment
- Adhere to safety guidelines for handling chemicals, wearing protective gear, and inspecting tools
- Dispose of waste materials, identify maintenance needs, and secure warehouse premises as necessary
- Support in other tasks assigned to meet company objectives
The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, basic math knowledge, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience as a powered industrial truck operator is preferred. Certification for PIT operation is required within 90 days of employment.
Work Environment:
The role involves indoor and outdoor work, exposure to variable temperatures, and chemical fumes. It also requires occasional proximity to powered lift trucks.
Work Schedule:
Employees will work five days a week for eight hours a day, with flexible start times. Overtime, weekend, and holiday work may be necessary based on business needs.
Physical Demands:
The position entails lifting weights, constant standing, walking, and use of cleaning equipment. Compliance with safety protocols and chemical handling guidelines is crucial.
