Job Overview
Are you seeking a role in manufacturing as a CNC Operator Specialist? Do you possess the expertise to identify intricate challenges while machining detailed components? If so, we invite you to explore this opportunity with Danfoss, where we are in search of a CNC Machinist Lathe/Mill to undertake a diverse range of tasks.
This position operates on the 2nd Shift.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills to execute machining tasks such as turning, boring, threading, and facing on various metallic materials including cast iron, stainless steel, brass, bronze, carbon steels, or non-metallic substances like plastic or Teflon.
- Follow specifications, tooling instructions, and machining procedures diligently.
- Interpret blueprints and factory work orders to ascertain specifications including dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, cutting speeds, and cutting tools.
- Position and secure tooling setups effectively.
- Insert workpieces into position and secure them using methods such as mounting between centers, inserting in chucks, or clamping to face plates.
- Select appropriate methods for holding workpieces, which may involve creating arbors or jaws for specific tasks.
- Adjust machine controls to set cutting speeds and feed rates, positioning tools accurately in relation to workpieces.
- Verify that machined workpieces meet specifications and tolerances as precise as .001 using measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and depth gauges.
- Obtain first piece inspection approval.
- Maintain cleanliness and lubrication of machines and ensure a tidy work environment.
- Adhere to company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints.
- Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, verniers, indicators, and various other measuring tools.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the setup and operation of CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Accountable for ensuring compliance with all relevant quality standards.
