Job Summary
As a Medical Assistant, you will support doctors by providing patient care and performing delegated medical tasks. You will maintain records, administer medication and injections, and record vital signs.
Responsibilities
You will:
- Help with examining and treating patients under a physician's guidance
- Prepare exam rooms, clean before and after procedures, disinfect equipment, and restock supplies
- Talk to patients, helping them to the exam room and getting them ready
- Collect data, including medical history, and record it in patient files
- Monitor vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height
- Help patients prepare for medical procedures, tests, and x-rays
- Conduct patient assessments, process electrocardiograms, and collect blood and urine samples during testing
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- To accurately document patient details in line with organizational guidelines
- To understand rules related to patient privacy and confidentiality (especially HIPAA regulations)
- To identify and report any signs of physical distress in patients to the healthcare staff
- To have a good grasp of medical terminology
- To be able to enhance patient comfort and ease through approachable and friendly interactions
- To be able to proficiently follow instructions from medical professionals
- To have knowledge about medical records and how to handle them
- To have a keen eye for detail

Qualifications
Completion of high school or equivalent is a must. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Candidates without certification must be willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.
