Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage third-party insurance claims associated with medication dispensing and billing.
  • Transmit and submit claims to insurance payors for reimbursement, ensuring compliance with payer and company policies.
  • Resolve insurance-related issues and patient concerns, maintaining accurate and chronological notes on actions taken.
  • Maintain patient demographic and insurance information, as well as data collection systems, including billing reports, queues, and diversions.
  • Research and respond to insurance companies and governmental payors regarding billing issues or related questions.
  • Communicate with patients, physician's offices, or insurance carriers to expedite billing claims.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in healthcare insurance billing or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Insurance billing or collections experience.
  • Customer service experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience working in a healthcare reimbursement system.

Education

  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED required.

Compensation

The typical pay range for this role is $28.45 per hour. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and other relevant factors.
