  • Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
Core Competencies:Standard I: Utilizes the Nursing Process
  • Uses critical thinking skills to assess patient needs and develop effective plans of care.
  • Communicates findings to healthcare team members and implements patient care and therapeutic procedures.
  • Evaluates care and treatment provided to patients, ensuring timely reassessment and documentation.
Standard II. Patient Throughput & Patient Flow Process
  • Anticipates and plans for admission/discharge/transfer needs to facilitate patient flow.
  • Utilizes systems of communication and tools to facilitate the discharge process.
Standard III. Unit Operations
  • Plans, directs, and evaluates nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit during an assigned shift.
  • Demonstrates good stewardship in the proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Standard IV. Safe Practice/Quality Care/Regulations
  • Incorporates patient safety practices and guidelines to promote a safe environment.
  • Demonstrates accountability for nursing research and quality improvement activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty, preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • RN License in state of employment or compact.
