Job Summary:

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer Guidance Navigation Control to join our team in San Diego, CA. As a key member of the Vehicle Management System (VMS) Hardware Avionics team, you will be responsible for the Navigation subsystem, ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform navigation subsystem lab testing, flight test support, anomaly resolution, and supplier management.

Collaborate with the VMS team to perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

Ensure the development of hardware and software specifications that meet customer requirements.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM).

At least 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in STEM, 6 years with Master's degree in STEM, or 3 years with a PhD and STEM.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Visio) and Matlab.

General understanding of the GPS system and how it works, as well as inertial sensors and their operation.

Preferred Qualifications:

MS degree in STEM.

TS or ability to obtain a TS clearance.

Flight test experience and supplier management skills.

Good understanding of the GPS system, GPS Signal in Space characteristics, DGPS systems, inertial sensors, GPS/INS tightly coupled Kalman filters, and GPS receiver design.
