General Overview

Starting Salary: $15.00 per hour

Under the direct supervision of the Library Manager - Circulation, this role involves physically demanding tasks primarily focused on organizing library materials and preparing meeting spaces. Responsibilities may include assisting with standard library circulation and customer service tasks in line with established library protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions

The following duties are representative of the responsibilities of this position and are not intended to cover all tasks performed by any specific employee.

- Organizes and shelves books, DVDs, and other library resources.

- Empties bookdrops, manages book carts, checks items for damage, and performs minor repairs as necessary.

- Maintains orderliness of shelves, including dusting and cleaning.

- Prepares and rearranges meeting rooms as required.

- Monitors the meeting room schedule to ensure proper setup.

- Assists with inventory and cleaning of meeting room furniture.

- Supports library programs as needed.

- Performs general cleaning tasks, including computer maintenance.

- Aids in opening and closing procedures.

Additional Responsibilities

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

- No prior experience is necessary.

Special Requirements

- Must be at least 16 years of age.

- Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting and bending, including moving heavy partitions.

- Must be able to stand for extended periods and manage loaded book carts.

- Availability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.

Knowledge of Job: Familiarity with library operations, policies, and procedures is essential. Ability to learn and apply new skills to enhance job performance is required.

Data Utilization: Ability to sort and manage data effectively.

Human Interaction: Requires effective communication skills for information exchange.

Equipment Utilization: Proficiency in using office equipment and technology.

Physical Ability: Tasks involve moderate physical effort, including lifting and moving materials.

Sensory Requirements: Tasks require visual and auditory skills for effective communication.

Environmental Factors: Work is typically performed in a controlled environment.
