Under the direct supervision of the Library Manager - Circulation, this role involves physically engaging tasks, primarily focused on organizing library materials and preparing meeting spaces. Responsibilities may include assisting with standard library circulation and customer service tasks, adhering to established library protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions

The following duties are representative of the role and are not exhaustive of all tasks performed:

- Organizes and shelves books, DVDs, and other library resources.

- Empties bookdrops, manages book carts, and checks materials for damage, performing minor repairs as necessary.

- Maintains orderliness of shelves, including dusting and cleaning as part of routine collection upkeep.

- Prepares and rearranges meeting rooms according to requirements.

- Monitors meeting room schedules to ensure proper setup.

- Conducts inventory and cleaning of furniture in meeting spaces.

- Assists with library programs as needed.

- Cleans computers and related equipment.

- Supports general building maintenance tasks, such as setting up signage and clearing debris.

- Aids in opening and closing procedures.

Additional Responsibilities

- Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

- No prior experience required.

Special Requirements

- Must be at least 16 years old.

- Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting and bending.

- Must be able to stand for extended periods and manage heavy book carts.

- Availability for varied hours, including evenings and weekends.

Performance Indicators
Knowledge: Familiarity with library operations and public service standards is essential.

Skills: Requires ability to handle equipment such as computers and office tools.

Communication: Must effectively exchange information and assist colleagues as needed.

Reasoning: Ability to interpret instructions and apply independent judgment in various situations.

Physical Requirements: Tasks involve moderate physical effort, including lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
