Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations, ICE Health Service Corps. As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality healthcare services to detainees in our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to detainees, including routine check-ups, emergency care, and specialized services.
  • Conduct thorough medical evaluations, including physical exams, laboratory tests, and diagnostic imaging.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address the unique healthcare needs of detainees.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, guidelines, and best practices to provide evidence-based care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Document patient interactions, medical history, and treatment plans in a clear and concise manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  • Participate in peer review and quality assurance activities to ensure high-quality care.
  • Stay current with ICE policies, procedures, and guidelines related to healthcare services.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must pass a background investigation.
  • Must pass a drug screen.
  • Must be a current USPHS Commissioned Corps Officer or USPHS Call to Active Duty (CAD) candidate.
  • Must have a valid state license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Must have national certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (APRN).
  • Must have a minimum of one year of clinical experience as a PA or NP.
  • Must have experience working in correctional healthcare or a similar setting.
  • Must have knowledge of public health preparedness, infection control, and TB management.
  • Must have ACLS certification.
  • Must have DEA Buprenorphine X Waiver certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a team lead or supervisor in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of ICE policies, procedures, and guidelines related to healthcare services.
  • Experience working with detainees or in a correctional healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of public health preparedness, infection control, and TB management.
  • ACLS certification.
  • DEA Buprenorphine X Waiver certification.
