Job Title: RN Registered Nurse, GI Lab

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our GI Lab team at West Penn Hospital. As a Registered Nurse in this dynamic procedural unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

About the Role:

The GI Lab at West Penn Hospital is a state-of-the-art procedural unit specializing in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Our team averages 25 adult patients a day, and we are looking for a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our ranks.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in a professional practice setting and contribute to building a positive team culture.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized plans of care, ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction and safety.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care and health services, promoting patient-centered care and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in department-specific quality initiatives, such as evidence-based practice and patient safety programs.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs and support staff, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement patient plans of care, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Derive culturally and age-appropriate expected outcomes, involving patients, families, and other healthcare providers in the care planning process.
  • Accept assignments in areas other than primary units and perform duties within individualized competency.
  • Participate in systematic peer review and obtain informal feedback regarding one's own practice, identifying areas for professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Current State of PA RN licensure or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate, Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate, and Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in area of specialty.
