Job Summary: The University of Illinois Springfield is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Assistant Professor in the Biology Program within the School of Integrated Sciences, Sustainability, and Public Health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach university-level courses in microbiology, biology, biochemistry, and genetics, as well as upper-level and undergraduate courses in the specialty of the candidate.
- Involve undergraduate students in research programs and provide research opportunities for pre-professional students.
- Advise and provide research opportunities for pre-med, pre-vet, and pre-dental students.
- Support the delivery of a pre-med concentration.
- Contribute to university service and duties as applicable.
Requirements:
- PhD degree or its foreign equivalent in Biology, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
- Excellent teaching and research skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
