Job Overview

The CAD Technician is responsible for utilizing AutoCAD to create, modify, and finalize technical drawings under the guidance of the design engineer. This role requires close collaboration with the design team to ensure that all drawings accurately reflect the intended specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Update existing schematics or generate new designs as required to fulfill project objectives using AutoCAD Electrical.
  2. Collaborate with engineers and senior designers to gather essential information for maintaining drawing precision and quality.
  3. Participate in design evaluations and contribute to enhancing operational efficiencies.
  4. Support panel assembly and wiring tasks as necessary.
  5. Carry out additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Essential:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in drafting, electrical design, or a related field, or equivalent training from a recognized CAD program.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical schematics.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, Microsoft Office, and knowledge of printing and plotting equipment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Team-oriented with a cooperative attitude towards assisting colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and attention to detail.
  • Capability to remain seated for extended periods during an 8-hour workday.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of drafting standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of NEC and UL standards.
  • Experience in customizing AutoCAD Electrical for enhanced drafting productivity.
