Role Summary: This role is situated within our Rocky Mountain Asphalt & Paving District Office. The Lead Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in delivering financial accounting, analysis, and support to the Finance Manager and District Plant Personnel. This position focuses on enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of daily financial transaction recording. Key Responsibilities: Ensure accurate financial closings, maintaining consistency in accounting/statutory reporting and product line reporting Reconcile balance sheet accounts Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes Support timely and precise routine management reporting Conduct standard and ad hoc analyses for management Provide insights to facilitate key business decisions Coordinate and assist with both internal and external audit requirements Offer guidance to ensure effective internal controls are established and maintained (including SOX compliance) Monitor adherence to company policies and procedures Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business Provide accounting assistance to district personnel Communicate effectively with Division and Corporate support staff Commit to promoting and adhering to safety policies in all work environments Required Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting Professional certification preferred (CPA or CMA) 5+ years of experience in finance/accounting Experience in supervising professional and clerical staff is advantageous Background in manufacturing or construction materials is a plus Strong ability to work independently Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written Proven expertise in financial/business analysis Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software Familiarity with JD Edwards and IBM Planning Analytics is beneficial Knowledge of GAAP standards
