About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Make Ready Production Support/Press Operator Assistant to join our team at Multi-Color Corporation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a passion for printing and a drive to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the press operator in setting up and supporting printing presses in accordance with customer specifications and requirements. They will also assist in performing make-ready operations, clean-up activities, and other tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities
  • Perform cleaning tasks, including ink pans and ancillary equipment
  • Strip plates from cylinders
  • Locate dies to and from press
  • May be required to work with press operator to view labels with assistance of strobe light
  • Comply with quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC
  • Responsible for cleanliness of machinery and organization of the workspace
  • Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Print shop experience helpful, but not required
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and written form)
  • Ability to read and understand a job ticket
  • Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements
  • Ability correctable to 20/20
  • Ability to differentiate colors
  • Ability to input data in the computer
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions
  • Ability to stand and move around press area for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
