Job Summary:



The Radiology Imaging Specialist is a certified health professional who applies diagnostic imaging techniques to provide high-quality patient care. This role involves working under the direction of an authorized user to ensure the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation in diagnostic radiology.



Responsibilities:


  • Obtains patient clinical history and lab work to document information for licensed practitioners.
  • Positions and immobilizes patients to best demonstrate anatomical areas of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
  • Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Performs radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment and accessories.
  • Verifies informed consent and completes pre and post-procedure documentation.
  • Assists licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures.


Requirements:


  • Associates degree from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred).
  • Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (required).
  • State Licensure (required).
  • BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) (required).
