Position Overview:

Nexamp is seeking a Lead Construction Project Manager (LCPM). In this role, you will oversee the training, support, and management of field-based Construction Managers. You are a seasoned leader with experience in civil, electrical, and structural disciplines, ideally within the solar sector. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of project permits, bids, and closeout documentation, while supporting the Project Manager across multiple projects concurrently. You will also play a vital role in construction quality as Nexamp expands into emerging markets.

This position is field-based and will report to the Regional Construction Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a proficient team of Construction Managers to supervise individual, short-term, high-intensity solar project construction, collaborating closely with the Commissioning and Closeout teams to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Contribute significantly to project development by conducting site assessments, assisting in value engineering, providing insights and field expertise to project designs, and aiding in the permitting process.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to create risk assessments and Health and Safety Plans (HASPs), implement the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and other Best Management Practices (BMPs) as necessary, and deliver job site safety briefings and tailgate discussions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support Project Managers in driving the commissioning and closeout processes, including as-built documentation, warranties, permit paperwork, commissioning documents, and Operations & Maintenance manuals.
  • Assist Project Managers in analyzing project data and budgets, contributing to informed decision-making.
  • Exemplify leadership by enforcing company and regulatory safety policies and procedures; address non-compliance issues among all personnel, contractors, and vendors.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with contractors, consultants, and project managers.
  • Participate in daily project updates and weekly progress meetings with Construction Managers.
  • Oversee submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), observations, and revisions.
  • Coordinate site maintenance during construction, including snow removal, site access, and landscaping.
  • Ensure site coverage during active construction, conduct SWPPP inspections and documentation, and manage all milestones, mockups, quality inspections, and approvals.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of Construction Managers.
  • Conduct weekly audits of project folders within Procore, review daily logs and inspections, and ensure proper closure of documentation.
  • Share expertise and best practices to continuously enhance the design, construction, and operation of projects.
  • Assist design teams with Geo-Tech and Push/Pull Testing.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in construction management, preferably in the solar industry, with a proven track record in project management.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, and various construction management software; familiarity with Procore is advantageous.
  • Understanding of medium voltage systems and equipment is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations; OSHA 10 certification is a minimum requirement.
  • Maintain professional licenses in relevant trades (e.g., CSL, NABCEP PV, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
  • Valid and current driver's license.
