Position Overview:
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist is dedicated to providing empathetic and suitable patient care while conducting MRI scans under the supervision of a physician to aid in the medical evaluation or treatment of injuries.
Job Highlights:
Sign-on Bonus: up to $ for qualified candidates, PRN positions are excluded. Benefits Eligibility: Yes, for those hired for over 20 hours weekly.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week, with openings for PRN roles as well. Multiple levels are available based on expertise and skills - the salary indicated is for an MRI Level I Technician. We are also open to considering MRI technicians in training.
Responsibilities encompass various facilities and departments as designated by Imaging Services leadership, including temporary shift assignments.Key Responsibilities:
Comprehends MRI safety protocols and diligently applies them to ensure magnet safety for patients, visitors, self, and colleagues.
Under the guidance of the radiologist, selects suitable technical parameters and scanning techniques to guarantee high-quality clinical examinations.
Ensures accurate patient identification, order verification, and prepares patients appropriately for their scans. Conducts MRI examinations following departmental and system standard protocols. Demonstrates knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and executes proper anatomical positioning and multiplanar image reconstruction.Under the direction of the radiologist or supervising clinician, administers contrast and medications as necessary for MRI examinations. Maintains proficiency in all clinical and technical aspects of the role.
Adheres to relevant policies and procedures, including clinical documentation, billing, and electronic medical record processes. Minimum Qualifications: ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification -or- ARRT(R) certification with a minimum of one year of full-time MRI experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers is required. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in MRI or related field.Physical Requirements:
Ongoing need for the employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.
Frequent interactions with patients, care providers, and visitors necessitate effective verbal communication and the ability to hear and comprehend spoken information, alarms, and urgent needs accurately, especially in emergency situations.
Manual dexterity is required to operate complex and delicate equipment with precision. This includes regular computer use and typing for documenting patient care and accessing necessary information.Expected to lift and utilize a full range of motion to assist patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, which may include heavy items.
Must be able to walk and assist with transporting patients and distributing supplies and equipment, including pushing or pulling gurneys and portable equipment. Often required to navigate crowded environments.
May be expected to maintain a stationary position for extended periods.
For roles requiring driving:
Expected to operate a vehicle, which necessitates sitting, seeing, and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
