Job Title: MRI Technologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Intermountain Health. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality MRI examinations under the direction of a physician to assist in the medical diagnosis or treatment of injury.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand MRI safety concepts and execute them diligently and consistently to maintain magnet safety for patients, guests, self, and fellow caregivers.
- Understand MRI scanning parameters and, in coordination with the radiologist, select appropriate technical parameters and scanning techniques to ensure clinical exams are of good quality.
- Ensure proper patient identification, order identification, and prepare the patient appropriately for the exam.
- Perform MRI examinations according to system and department standard protocols.
- Understand cross-sectional anatomy and demonstrate appropriate anatomical positioning and multiplanar image reconstruction.
- Under the direction of the radiologist or supervising clinician, perform contrast and medication administration inherent to MRI examination.
- Maintain competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job.
- Follow appropriate Intermountain policy and procedure including clinical documentation, billing, and electronic medical record workflows.
Requirements:
- ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification -or- ARRT(R) certification with at least 1 year full-time experience in MRI
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor's Degree in MRI or Advanced Radiologic Science
Physical Requirements:
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
