RN - Chemotherapy Specialist

Christie Clinic's Hematology-Oncology department is seeking a skilled RN to provide high-quality care to cancer patients. As a PRN (as needed & non-benefit eligible) RN - Chemotherapy, you will work between Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm at the University clinic, with no night or weekend requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver care to cancer patients and contribute to excellence and cutting-edge treatments.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.
- Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient.
- Observe, record and report patient's condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider.
- Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.
- Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.
- Administer IV's for Chemotherapy and/or Phlebotomy.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Evidence of annual completion of health-related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU's.
Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances and bodily fluids. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
