Job Description:

Carolina Foods is a leading manufacturer of sweet baked goods, with a rich history dating back to 1934. We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Equipment Specialist to join our team.

BASIC FUNCTION:

  • Provide technical ownership of manufacturing equipment and processes in an automated baked goods manufacturing facility.
  • Work closely with the Reliability, Operations, Continuous Improvement and Quality teams to ensure world-class levels of OEE.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technical ownership of processing equipment and systems, including bulk delivery systems, dough handling and forming, fryers, and other equipment related to the manufacture of honey buns, donuts, and pies.
  • Process and equipment optimization to achieve required system performance in throughput, uptime, and quality for each process line and facility system.
  • Daily shop floor technical support of Maintenance and Operations teams, including troubleshooting assistance with electrical controls and mechanical systems.
  • Daily collaboration with Operations and Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Full-cycle management of capital projects for both new equipment installations and improvements to existing installations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS or technical degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field, or significant (15+ years) of applicable technical experience.
  • Hands-on attitude with the willingness and ability to work closely with personnel on the shop floor.
  • 2+ years of experience providing technical engineering support in an automated manufacturing environment.
