Job SummaryCarolina Foods Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for providing technical ownership of manufacturing equipment and processes in our automated baked goods manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities- Technical ownership of processing equipment and systems, including bulk delivery systems, dough handling and forming, fryers, and other equipment related to the manufacture of honey buns, donuts, and pies.
- Process and equipment optimization to achieve required system performance in throughput, up-time, and quality for each process line and facility system.
- Daily shop floor technical support of maintenance and operations teams, including troubleshooting assistance with electrical controls and mechanical systems.
- Daily collaboration with operations and continuous improvement teams.
- Full-cycle management of capital projects for both new equipment installations and improvements to existing installations.
- Provide engineering support of new product innovation opportunities.
- Work with operations, maintenance, and CI teams to develop and drive a total productive manufacturing (TPM) culture, including the pillars of planned maintenance and autonomous maintenance.
- Serve as a mentor to operators and maintenance technicians to drive shop-floor equipment and process ownership.
- Implement data-driven processes to track and manage assigned KPIs and contribute to the daily/weekly team KPI and execution cadence.
- Analyze and own results/KPIs and act with urgency and pace.
- Always be a responsible steward of the brand, business team members, and stakeholders.
- BS or technical degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a closely related engineering field, or significant (15+ years) of applicable technical experience.
- Hands-on attitude with the willingness and ability to work closely with personnel on the shop floor.
- 2+ years of experience providing technical engineering support in an automated manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrable experience with electrical, controls, and automation.
- 5+ years of experience providing technical engineering support in an automated manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.
