Position Overview

The Beverage Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of the bar environment. This role includes the development of innovative drink recipes, recruitment, scheduling, and training of bar staff, as well as managing inventory, preparation, and the closing of the bar area. The manager will also coordinate and supervise catering events as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage both full-time and student employees, providing clear guidance and direction.
  • Develop and maintain drink recipes to ensure precision in cost management and operational controls.
  • Ensure the bar is ready for operation by adhering to established opening and closing procedures; maintain security protocols.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all patrons.
  • Manage inventory orders and oversee the receipt, inventory, and stocking of products.
  • Contribute to budget planning, drink menu creation, pricing strategies, and operational objectives. Assist in organizing special events.
  • Handle payment transactions for all bar orders.
  • Design and maintain engaging merchandise displays and signage.
  • Support various functions within the Catering department, stepping in as needed to ensure efficient service.
  • Monitor service equipment to ensure proper functionality and arrange repairs as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all dining service standards and relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Enforce local health codes regarding sanitation and safety practices.
  • Assume management responsibilities in the absence of the manager, including necessary service calls.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as inventory management, payroll, and record keeping.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Information

This position is a full-time role, requiring 40 hours per week. The schedule is typically planned two weeks in advance, but may vary based on operational needs. Flexibility in scheduling may be necessary during peak periods and large events.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a high-volume food and beverage environment.
  • ServSafe certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  • ServSafe Alcohol certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  • Allergen awareness certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
