Position Overview

The Senior Buyer is responsible for overseeing and executing the procurement processes for raw materials, driven by forecasts and customer requirements while ensuring optimal inventory levels are maintained.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with manufacturing transitions from external sources is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel to the USA is essential during the initial phase of the program.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Strong command of MRP systems and MS-Office, particularly Excel.
  • APICS certification is a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of production processes.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Planning experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the transfer and implementation of functions as per the position's requirements across various manufacturing sites.
  • Act as a communication bridge between sales forecasts and production capabilities.
  • Engage in daily operational meetings to discuss schedules and special activities for the day.
  • Prioritize tasks for the operations team in case of scheduling conflicts and inform sales of any potential impacts on customer expectations.
  • Ensure that future requirements are transparent and accessible to the organization.
  • Input Purchase Orders from Sales into the production schedule.
  • Provide lead times back to Planning regarding entered Purchase Orders.
  • Generate and propose solutions to expedite requests, analyzing the impact of each proposed solution and reporting to the supervisor.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation for production, packaging, and shipment is readily available and accessible.
  • Prepare and submit reports on Purchase Order status and performance.
  • Develop strategies to achieve company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate with the Sourcing department to address supplier-related issues.
