General Manager - Hotel Operations Leader

As a General Manager at Desai Companies, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our hotel, ensuring seamless guest experiences, and driving revenue growth. This is a unique opportunity to combine your passion for hospitality with your entrepreneurial spirit, as you will be a co-owner of the hotel, with a significant stake in its success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee all hotel operations, including guest services, staffing, maintenance, and vendor management, ensuring smooth daily operations and a culture of hospitality excellence.
  • Sales and Marketing Support: Collaborate with external partners and third-party vendors to maximize occupancy and revenue, and work with our team to develop a commission-based sales model and promotional strategies.
  • Strategic Partnership: Foster a collaborative partnership with Desai Companies, working closely with our team to achieve shared goals and drive business growth.
  • Performance Tracking: Utilize OKRs to measure operational progress and ensure alignment with company-wide goals, regularly assessing key performance indicators to maintain accountability and drive continuous improvement.
  • Autonomous Decision-Making: As a co-owner and GM, you will have the autonomy to make key decisions related to hotel operations, staffing, and vendor contracts, including hiring, replacing, or negotiating with service providers.
  • Financial Management: Leverage your financial acumen to manage the hotel's P&L, budget, and financial strategy, implementing cost-saving measures and ensuring consistent profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field, with advanced degrees or certifications advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in senior hospitality management roles, with a strong focus on strategic and financial oversight.
  • Skills:
  • Proven experience in hotel management, with a track record of operational success.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to make sound investment decisions.
  • Proven expertise in developing and executing sales strategies, implementing marketing initiatives, and leading teams effectively.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a commitment to driving growth and profitability.
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining collaborative relationships with strategic partners.

Investment Evaluation Process:

As part of the selection process, potential partners will need to demonstrate their financial commitment to the partnership, sharing their personal financials and identifying the source of potential investment capital.
