Principal Systems Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team in Tampa, FL. As a key member of our Mission Systems team, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining distributed architecture systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement enterprise solutions that align with best practices to support mission-critical objectives.
  • Maintain awareness of market and technology trends to bring new and best-of-breed solutions to our customers.
  • Develop and implement system architecture solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Work closely with management and team leads to identify key areas where you can provide value to the mission.
Requirements:
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics (STEM); three (3) years with a master's degree; or no experience required with a PhD.
  • US Citizenship is required with an active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Must possess DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Data Storage Technologies: Technical expertise with NetApp, including backup and recovery solutions, storage provisioning, storage management, and data protections.
  • Virtual Infrastructure: Ability to design, deploy, manage, maintain, and upgrade VMware vCenter, ESXi, NSX-T, Horizon VDI environments, and Tanzu Kubernetes Grid.
  • Network Engineering: Ability to plan, design, implement, and maintain physical and virtual network environments, including Cisco and/or VMware NSX devices and technologies.
  • Windows Systems Engineering: Experience in designing, implementing, and configuring Windows enterprise architecture, including Active Directory, DHCP, GPOs, DNS, LDAP, Bitlocker, and Certificate Authorities.
  • Linux Engineering: Experience with multiple Linux distributions, with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including security hardening, granular role-based access, and automation of repeated tasks.
  • Scripting/Automation: Experience in automating engineering tasks using scripting and/or orchestration tools, including PowerShell, Python, Bash, or YAML (executed/managed via Ansible).
