About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist to join our team at Southcoast Health.

Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of the Manager of the Cardiac Cath Lab, perform diversified clinical patient care, technical, and related duties within the cardiac cath lab or structural heart.
  • Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure requests.
  • Obtain pertinent hemodynamic and angiographic information from patient charts and document all data within the hemodynamic system and EHR.
  • Perform patient education related to the procedure.
  • Position patients and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies, identify, prepare, and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure.
  • Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Assist interventional or invasive cardiologists in performing cardiac cath or structural heart procedures.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology.
  • Attainment of certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a Registered Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (RT(R)) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
  • One year's experience as a Scrub Assistant in a cardiac catheterization/EP lab/Structural Heart or IR is preferred.
  • Post-primary certification in Cardiac or Vascular Interventional Radiography is preferred for Radiologic Technologists.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
