Job Title: Cloud Data Engineering Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Data Engineering Lead to join our team at J&J Family of Companies. As a key member of our Enterprise Data Platform team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale cloud application platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own end-to-end platform lifecycle activities, including technical vision, strategy, prioritization, delivery, and performance management
- Collaborate with Platform Owners and Product Owners to build a technical backlog that delivers business value while meeting the needs of supporting teams
- Work in close partnership with the Platform Architect and technology counterparts to manage cross-team dependencies in roadmaps and backlog, and to refine technical backlog by using product roadmaps and by anticipating functional and non-functional requirements while balancing business value and technical feasibility, cost, and delivery timelines
- Drive the interaction model between the product groups using the platform and the platform teams building/maintaining the platform, using clear cadences, standards, and best practices to ensure clarity and agreement of decision rights
- Ensure platform fits into the broader Enterprise Architecture guidelines and standards (e.g., APIs, security controls, approved technologies, data standards, etc.) and maintain leading expertise on tech capabilities relevant to the platform

Requirements:

- Minimum B.S (Computer Science, or other related Engineering field equivalent) and 7 years industry experience or M.S. and 5 years industry experience
- Expertise in either AWS or Azure is required. Experience in the other is preferred
- Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale enterprise cloud application platforms
- Experience in secure solutions design for cloud environments in regulated environments
- Working knowledge of network design and security in cloud environments
- Strong programming background, with extensive experience in Python
- Expert in AWS or Azure cloud platform services and management
- Expertise in Data & Analytics capabilities on AWS or Azure
- Experience in the design and management of customer-facing services
- Experience in troubleshooting and debugging
- Experience working with Git and source code managed cloud infrastructure development
- Experience delivering production software within the constraints of Agile SDLC
- Experience with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- English High level of communication skills (read, write, speak)

Preferred:

- Knowledge of other cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) is highly preferred
- Cloud certifications highly preferred
- Experience in at least one programming language such as: JavaScript/Groovy/Go/Rust/C, etc.
- Experience in designing resilient and fault-tolerant systems
- Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting complex distributed systems
- Experience with the Atlassian tool set (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket)
