Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:
Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance functions, making repairs in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic breakdowns under minimal guidance of the maintenance supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, obtains cost estimates, and executes projects under guidance of the maintenance supervisor.
- Troubleshoots and performs maintenance duties such as mechanical and electrical repairs.
- Provides training in areas of expertise or knowledge.
- Responds to work orders submitted by employees.
- Assists supervisor in ordering parts and developing a preventative maintenance program.
- Participates in quality improvement programs and supports installation of new equipment and facilities improvements.
- Works safely by observing safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains compliance with company quality systems and supports audits.
- Basic design and fabrication of repairs and process improvements.
Requirements:
- Experience/knowledge in mechanical, plumbing, steam and boiler, pneumatics, confined space, mobile equipment, Mig welding, and Oxy/Plasma cutting.
- Ability to adapt to change, problem solve, and prioritize work.
- Ability to bend, squat, and kneel, and climb frequently.
- Ability to stand for periods of a minimum of 3 hours.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, varied hours/days, and lift average weighted materials.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical schematics, piping diagrams, and orthographic, isometric, and sketch-views.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical Journeyman or Technical/Vocation Certificate preferred.
