Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Outpatient Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at Mass General Brigham in East Greenwich, Rhode Island.

About the Role:
  • This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week and 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working in an outpatient physical therapy setting and be licensed as a physical therapist assistant in the state of Rhode Island.
  • As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care and achieve optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities:
  • Under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients with impairments, functional limitations, or disabilities.
  • Conduct sessions according to organizational and professional guidelines, using modified measurement skills based on patient age, medical condition, and cultural background.
  • Communicate patient progress and overall status with the physical therapist to adjust goals, treatment plans, procedures, and discharge needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, adhering to facility and practice guidelines.
  • Orient, train, and mentor therapy and health care students to achieve stated performance expectations.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Licensed (and in good standing) as a physical therapist assistant in the state of Rhode Island.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic skills in math and computer science.
  • Appropriate knowledge of physical therapy treatment techniques to manage the rehabilitation population.
  • Ability to assess and interact with patients and families using theories of human growth and development, family systems, and cultural background.
  • Computer proficiency, with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
