Certified Medical Assistant

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in the Infusion Department at Texas Oncology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians and clinicians with patient care duties, including exams and procedures.
- Record patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Obtain patient records as required by physicians prior to treatment or procedures.
- Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
- Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician.
- Maintain exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
- Answer patient telephone calls and refer to physicians or nurses/pharmacists as needed.
- Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
- Inform physicians of patient reschedules and no-shows.
- Perform other administrative duties, including typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception, as requested by supervisor or physician.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
- 0-3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
- Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
