Pediatric Medical Assistant

As a Pediatric Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our primary care team in providing high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include assisting practitioners with procedures, processing prescription orders and refills, maintaining accurate patient records, and communicating test results.
Department Overview:
The Primary Care teams at HexaQuEST Health, Inc. offer comprehensive healthcare services for individuals of all ages, from newborns to seniors. Our team of pediatric, family medicine, and internal medicine providers work together to provide preventive care, including annual exams, health screenings, and counseling on health and lifestyle.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. A Registered or Certified Medical Assistant (RMA or CMA) certification is also necessary. Additionally, Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required. Previous medical back office experience or completion of a MA/CMA program is preferred. Experience in a related specialty area and lab/EKG experience are also desirable.

Excellent patient care skills, with the ability to recognize symptoms, drug properties, and interactions, treatments, and preventive healthcare measures within the scope of practice. Adaptability and flexibility to respond quickly and appropriately to situations with high-risk or diverse patient populations. Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and discuss issues tactfully. Ability to work collaboratively on a multi-disciplinary team, develop constructive relationships, and maintain them over time. Knowledge of medical records, procedures, and terminology, with the ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers, with a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles, and ages.
