Role Summary
The Senior Medical Assistant operates under the guidance of the designated medical provider or the CSS Supervisor/Site Manager in the absence of a provider, focusing on direct patient care. This role is pivotal in ensuring patient confidentiality and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

Team Development

• Facilitate the training and mentoring of new Medical Assistants in the back office, coordinating with the R.N. to ensure comprehensive onboarding.

• Share responsibility for patient health outcomes, collaborating with Care Teams.

• Instill confidence in our care services among patients and stakeholders.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues.

• Engage in quality improvement initiatives to support organizational success.


Clinical Operations

• Oversee patient flow in the back office and provide cross-coverage as necessary.

• Adjust daily assignments to ensure adequate coverage, particularly during peak times.

• Manage the scheduling of Medical Assistants.

• Monitor daily tasks for completion, including temperature checks, exam room supplies, and data entry.

• Ensure the availability of necessary supplies for back office operations.

• Report equipment issues and take appropriate corrective actions.

• Contribute to the evaluation process of back office Medical Assistants.

• Lead back office meetings and participate in additional meetings as required.


Compliance and Safety

• Adhere to all safety protocols as outlined in the organization’s Illness and Injury Prevention Plan (IIPP) and report any unsafe conditions immediately.

• Stay informed about policies and procedures related to safe work practices.

• Follow infection control protocols and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

• Comply with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and report any unethical or unlawful activities.


Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Valid medical assistant certification from an accredited institution required.

• Current BLS certification required upon hire.

• Minimum of two years of experience as a medical assistant required.

• Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.


Additional Skills:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail.

• Ability to interpret various forms of instructions.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures.

• Proficiency in electronic health records systems preferred.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.


Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs.

• Ability to stand for extended periods.


Compensation: $34.18/hr, based on experience.
