NextEra Energy, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Accountant II to join our team at the Juno Beach location. In this role, you will report to the Accounting Supervisor and focus on Regulatory Accounting related activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and post journal entries for revenue, receivables, accruals, amortization, and prepaid expenses.
  • Prepare general ledger reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Review monthly transactions for regulated companies and collaborate with other departments to understand and explain variances.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for internal and external reporting.
  • Review quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, and FERC reports.
  • Assist with year-end external audit, including preparing rollforward schedules and providing supporting documentation.
  • Create and update desktop procedures for assigned tasks.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • 1+ years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, or experience in accounting research and financial accounting.
