Cambium is seeking a highly skilled Senior Fabrication and Test Specialist to join our composite materials team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fabricating composite test coupons and parts for prototyping, working closely with engineers to ensure high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Composite Fabrication: Follow written instructions to fabricate composite test panels, coupons, and parts using various methods such as hand layup, resin transfer molding, and filament winding.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior technicians to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate composite curing equipment, including ovens, autoclaves, presses, and kilns, to ensure accurate and efficient results.
  • Sample Preparation: Prepare samples for analytical testing, such as DSC, DMA, TGA, and optical microscope, to provide accurate data for research and development purposes.
  • Safety Protocols: Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety within the team.
  • R&D Activities: Participate in a wide range of R&D problem-solving activities, demonstrating an open mind and desire to learn and improve processes.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • Experience: 8+ years of work experience, with 3-5+ years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment working with carbon fiber composites.
  • Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills, detail-oriented and patient working style, comfortable operating heavy machinery, and ability to complete complex tasks on time.
  • Citizenship: Must have US citizenship due to the nature of the work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory Experience: Experience supervising technicians.
