Position Overview:

Under the guidance of the Activities Director, the Recreation Coordinator plays a vital role in developing, organizing, and executing engaging activity programs tailored to enhance the personal enjoyment and well-being of our residents. This is done in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations to ensure that the spiritual, emotional, recreational, and social needs of each resident are met.


Key Responsibilities:

• Implement a calendar of activities that cater to the recreational interests of residents, assisting the Activities Director in planning, scheduling, and overseeing events.

• Foster resident engagement in a variety of activities, including games, performances, social gatherings, arts and crafts, outdoor excursions, reading sessions, and more.

• Provide physical assistance to residents as needed, ensuring their safe transportation to and from activity locations.

• Manage the care, organization, and security of recreational equipment within the facility.

• Adhere to established safety protocols and promptly report any incidents, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues to the Activities Director and management.

• Participate in ongoing training to maintain and enhance professional skills as required.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

• Ability to build positive relationships with residents and their families while collaborating effectively with team members.

• Must maintain regular attendance and be flexible with work hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as necessary.

• Physical and sensory capabilities (with or without accommodation) include walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, fine motor skills, and effective communication with residents, families, and staff.

• Must comply with all local health regulations and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment.

• Capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
