OVERVIEW:
We are in search of a seasoned Senior SME RF Communications Risk Assessor to spearhead risk evaluation and mitigation initiatives for communication systems, with a primary focus on RF hardware emanations. This role demands extensive knowledge in government contracting and significant experience with State Department protocols. The ideal candidate will possess a strong history of applying industry standards to manage risks and bolster cybersecurity measures for IT and communication infrastructures within governmental contexts.
YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:
- Joining Peraton's Department of State (DoS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program, providing cutting-edge cyber and technology security expertise to facilitate innovative and secure business operations.
- Conducting thorough telecommunications security and TEMPEST risk evaluations for communication devices, concentrating on RF hardware and emanation issues, while ensuring adherence to governmental and State Department regulations.
- Assisting in the assessment and review of TSG-approved and TEMPEST-certified products.
- Supporting facility evaluations and formally documenting Telecommunications Security and TEMPEST standards to safeguard against the unauthorized extraction of National Security Systems Information (NSI) and compromising emanations for National Security Systems (NSS) both domestically and internationally.
- Engaging in collaborative working groups to uphold the Department's compliance with telecommunications security standards.
- Developing and enhancing risk management frameworks and strategies utilizing leading industry standards (e.g., NSA, NIST, ISO) to secure sensitive governmental communication systems.
- Collaborating with senior officials from the government and State Department to align security strategies with overarching objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Designing and implementing innovative engineering solutions to tackle complex security challenges, promoting best practices in the field.
- Providing strategic insights on cybersecurity policies, ensuring compliance with the latest federal regulations and industry developments.
- Keeping abreast of emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory updates, advising on proactive strategies to protect communication infrastructures.
- Delivering high-level presentations, white papers, and reports on risk assessment results, strategies, and outcomes to senior government stakeholders and executive teams.
- Travel to government and State Department facilities may be required.
Essential:
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in engineering, security, management studies, or related disciplines from an accredited institution. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proven expertise in telecommunications and RF emanations, with a background in research, design, or testing.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of fostering and maintaining professional relationships; proactive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks concurrently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, etc., with the ability to learn and utilize other software applications.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Risk Analytics certification (e.g., CRMA, CCSA, PMI-RMP) within 6 months of employment.
- U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
