About the Role

At Southern California Edison, we are seeking an experienced Wireless Telecommunications Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in designing and implementing wireless network infrastructure to support the company's mission of powering the clean energy revolution.

About You

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field, with at least five years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction, or maintenance environments.
  • You possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • You have hands-on experience with ISM mesh radio networks, VSAT satellite networks, LTE networks, and land mobile radio systems, as well as experience with large-scale wireless network deployment.

Responsibilities

  1. Evaluate requirements of assigned projects within established telecom communication system standards to meet project and system objectives.
  2. Develop plan of service for projects, including elements such as required communications facilities, facility site location, required systems, etc.
  3. Develop project cost and schedule estimates, incorporating complete scope, cost, and schedules conveyed to internal clients and external customers.
  4. Create and issue design documentation for assigned projects and oversee execution of designs by implementation resources.
  5. Track project delivery including scope, schedule, and budget with internal Network & Telecommunication Services, construction service providers, and internal client operating units.
  6. Coordinate with vendors, external utilities, governmental agencies, and external clients as required to complete.
  7. Mentor junior engineers to foster understanding of wireless engineering principles.
  8. Evaluate and operationalize alternative wireless technologies to meet current and future business requirements.
